Health Promotion Council (HPC) is excited to help people living across Pennsylvania to enroll in a lifestyle change program to prevent type 2 diabetes. These programs are known as the Diabetes Prevention Program, also called “DPP”.
Prediabetes is a health condition. You can live a long and active life with prediabetes. You can do this by taking action to make changes in your habits for better health, such as eating better and being more active.
Prediabetes means a person's blood glucose (sugar) level is higher than normal, but not high enough yet to have diabetes. If you have prediabetes, you have more risk for getting type 2 diabetes and other serious health problems such as stroke and heart disease. The sooner people find out they have prediabetes they can take action to learn how to make better choices to prevent type 2 diabetes.
