Keri Salerno is the Senior Director, Strategic Development with Health Promotion Council (HPC), an affiliate of Public Health Management Corporation. She brings to the role 15 years of experience in the public and non-profit sectors working on a range of issues and utilizing a number of skills. Keri comes to HPC after seven and half years in the public sector having served as a public safety policy expert with the New Jersey Democratic Majority Office and in two positions in the Administration of Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter: 1) Director of Reentry Strategies and Outreach focusing on policy and system change for prisoner reentry issues and managing a viagra sans ordonnance gun violence reduction strategy and 2) Director of Philanthropic Relations where she raised funds from the private sector to support the Administration’s policies. Prior to joining the public sector, Keri spent over six years as a fundraiser and grassroots organizer for local, state and federal issue based and electoral campaigns.
In addition to her professional experience, Keri has been civically engaged in Philadelphia. She currently serves as Board Secretary for USA250 where she was also a founding member. For five years Keri was a publisher, editor, manager of volunteer writers and writer for the Philadelphia Social Innovations Journal. She was President and a founding Board Member of Philadelphia Young Non-profit Leaders and a member of Young Involved Philadelphia and Young America PAC. Lastly, she is an award winning gardener having placed in Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Gardening and Greening Contest in 2013.
Keri holds a Masters in Government Administration and Certificate in Non-profit Management from the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts in History and Political Science from Tulane University.
